Rare Birds:

A Celebration of Women Working In Metal

Pendulum Gallery June 22 - July 3, 2009

Rare Birds was an exhibition of metal sculpture and furniture by female artists and fabricators from Vancouver and vicinity. It was the first time in the history of British Columbia that such a sizable group of women who work professionally in the traditional male dominated medium  assembled together to showcase their talents. Rare Birds celebrated the evolution of women's roles and status as well as the society as a whole. The exhibition took place under Vancouver's own gem, Alan Story's giant stainless steel pendulum.
